Job summary
Burns & McDonnell in California is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to assist the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for aviation, government, and military facilities. You will work with project teams from concept through construction, performing load calculations, energy modeling, and CAD drawings.
You should have a relevant engineering degree, FE exam progress, and experience with Revit/AutoCAD, energy tools, and programming to improve design efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC and Plumbing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree from an accredited program.
- Or Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC and Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering Technology from an accredited program and successful FE exam.
Responsibilities
- Assist in HVAC and plumbing design from conceptual phase through design completion across various systems.
- Assist in load calculations and energy modeling using IESVE or similar tools.
- Develop production drawings in CAD software (Revit and AutoCAD).
- Research project data and assist with client presentations and shop drawings.
- Support field inspections and calculations for public and private clients.
