Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Brea, California to support standard engineering design work and project tasks. You will assist lead engineers, update designs, and apply basic engineering techniques across aviation and federal project areas.

The internship emphasizes learning, leadership, and the ability to communicate clearly. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program with ABET preference and a strong academic record.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a related post-secondary program with good standing.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Prior internship or consulting experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques to design tasks.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and updates.
