Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Construction Section Manager to lead the Aviation & Federal construction practice in the Southeast. You will direct staff, plan projects, manage budgets, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while aligning with company values.

You will collaborate with engineering and business development teams, supervise resources, monitor financials, and drive performance against billable goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related field; 5 years of construction/project management experience required, 10 years preferred.
• Leadership and/or management experience is preferable.
• Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to present complex info to all levels.
• Travel expectation: 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the construction team; direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance.
• Ensure profitable growth; manage staff loading and billable goals.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost control and objectives.
• Lead project execution within budget while ensuring safety, quality, procurement, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate with Engineering GP and Construction section; manage stakeholder communications.
• Recruitment, development, training and retention of staff; conduct performance evaluations.
