Job summary

Coulson Aviation is seeking an Export Compliance Officer in Thermal, California, to support the U.S. customs and export-control program.

The role focuses on ensuring compliant movement of aircraft, parts, equipment, and data across borders, with day-to-day duties including liaising with brokers and maintaining regulatory alignment. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of EAR/ITAR, and experience with licensing, classification, and international trade compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, international trade, finance, or related field.
• At least three years of experience in logistics, international trade, customs, or export compliance.
• Eligibility to serve as an Empowered Official under U.S. export-control requirements.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. export-control laws and regulations (EAR, ITAR).
• Working knowledge of Canadian, EU, and other international export-control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Company's Empowered Official per eligibility requirements.
• Manage relationships with U.S., Canadian, and international customs brokers.
• Ensure shipments meet CBP requirements and prepare invoices.
• Coordinate with brokers during audits and regulatory reviews.
• Assess trade eligibility, classifications, and duty treatments.
• Identify and map export-control classifications for products.
