Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Trade Compliance Officer to lead and oversee the company’s export compliance program. This role ensures compliance with US regulations, ITAR/EAR, training, licensing, and recordkeeping across the organization.

The incumbent will engage with Security, Purchasing, Contracts, Legal, and external consultants to drive risk mitigation, develop training curricula, and support international business development while ensuring timely contract reviews for trade compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Law or related field.
• Minimum 12+ years of export administration experience with aerospace/defense entities.
• Experience with U.S. Government entities and international customers.
• Experience working with external Trade Compliance consultants.

Responsibilities

• Oversee licensing compliance and coordinate with cross-functional areas (Security, Purchasing, P&C, Contracts, Legal).
• Perform risk assessments and advise on corrective actions for ongoing risk mitigation.
• Perform annual risk assessment in accordance with ITAR/EAR guidelines.
• Maintain Trade Compliance records and train employees on TC procedures.
• Provide guidance to International BD and PM teams on new business and contract reviews for trade compliance.
