Job summary

McFarland Johnson is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Aviation Project Manager to lead the Aviation and Infrastructure team across New England. The role requires 15+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience, with a preference for aviation project knowledge and a PE license.

Based in New England or willing to relocate, you will drive client relationships and deliver complex projects from planning through construction.

Qualifications

• At least 15+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience, preferably in aviation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship management skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing staff development and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex, multidisciplinary projects across aviation, civil/site, planning, and environmental domains.
• Serve as primary client manager, understanding needs, priorities, and long-term goals.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring technical excellence and quality delivery.
• Guide and mentor engineers and technical staff across teams.
• Support workload planning, staff development, and growth of the New England team.
• Contribute to business development, including proposals and client engagement.
• Represent MJ at client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations.
