Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer with 6+ years of aviation experience to join the Aviation team in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role supports airside and landside design, including runway and taxiway projects, in a collaborative, design-centered environment.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, U.S. citizenship, and a hybrid work schedule with in-office presence in Honolulu. A PE license is preferred or achievable within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably aviation/Transportation infrastructure.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design tasks related to airfield infrastructure: runways, taxiways, aprons, pavement, grading, and stormwater systems.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents in compliance with FAA, state, and local standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including subconsultants and internal groups (structural, electrical, geotechnical).
• Provide support during construction phases: site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies to support project delivery.
• Contribute to project management activities: scope, schedule, and budget tracking under senior staff.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
