Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Discipline Leader to support aviation design management in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This role spans the full project lifecycle from planning through construction and provides technical leadership within the civil engineering team.

You will lead design efforts for airport infrastructure—runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals—while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver safe, compliant, and scalable facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of civil experience or equivalent.
• Valid US driver's license and ability to pass background checks.
• US citizenship required for project eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for airport development, including runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals.
• Provide technical leadership within the aviation civil engineering group.
• Plan and oversee design activities: airfield layout, site grading, drainage, pavement, stormwater.
• Prepare and review construction documents, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate utility design and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and CAD staff; support construction activities.
