Job summary

The City of McAllen, TX, is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and routine inspections on airport facilities and equipment, including baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.

Under supervision, you will help ensure safe, reliable operation of critical airport assets, comply with safety standards, and support continuous service for city travelers and airport operations.

Job description

The purpose of this position is performing skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on airport facilities and operational equipment including baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, HVAC/chiller systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and related infrastructure. Ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical airport assets while maintaining compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards. This job works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
