Job summary

Dallas Symphony Orchestra seeks an Audio Video Technician to support Meyerson Symphony Center's video, audio, and meeting technology systems. The role covers concerts, livestreams, recordings, teleconferences, and corporate presentations, ensuring reliable performance and world-class experiences.

Responsibilities include configuring video production, testing systems, maintaining connectivity to venue networks, and supporting hybrid meetings with conferencing platforms and displays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Digital Media, Media Technology, IT, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of professional audio video experience.
  • Experience with venue and technical facility maintenance.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with professional audio mixing, signal routing, media storage/archiving, fiber optic infrastructure, and production lighting equipment in a live performance or event environment.
  • Ability and flexibility to work a variety of schedules that may include evenings, weekends and off-hours to support events.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, commission, and test video production and distribution systems used for performances, livestreams, recordings, and events.
  • Install, patch, interfacing, and troubleshoot video systems including cameras, routers, switchers, and streaming equipment.
  • Maintain operational readiness of video systems and their connectivity to venue networks.
  • Provide setup, configuration, and operational support for meeting and conferencing technology in various venues.
  • Support teleconference and hybrid meeting environments including platforms, displays, microphones, and streaming systems.
  • Assist with network connectivity, device integration, and troubleshooting of AV systems interfacing with IT.
  • Coordinate technical requirements for corporate meetings, presentations, and teleconference events.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, cleaning, installation, and basic repair of AV equipment.
  • Coordinate software licensing updates and firmware upgrades for cameras and devices.
  • Maintain inventory of AV equipment and infrastructure; produce event reports and post-production file management.
  • Develop written documentation and cross-training materials for AV and video workflows.
