Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineer to develop software for the HIL Platform and integration services in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on building reliable, high-performance software across Linux environments and tightly integrating with AV hardware and AI models.

Candidates should have 2+ years of production-quality software experience, strong Python/C++ skills, and a solid understanding of real-time systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience writing production-quality software.
• Strong system fundamentals and coding abilities in Python and C++.
• Understanding of how to design high-performant software components.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Preferred: Experience optimizing and/or evaluating complex software systems on dedicated hardware.
• Preferred: Experience with ROS architectures.
• Preferred: Experience with low-latency or real-time systems.
• Preferred: Experience in the AV industry.
• Preferred: Experience with SQL.
• Preferred: Working experience with large build systems such as Bazel.

Responsibilities

• Develop software to increase the capabilities, fidelity, observability, and scale of the HIL Platform and Integration services.
• Deliver reliable software through requirements generation, continuous integration, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams within the core AV organization.
• Deliver complex projects through incremental development.
• Work at the intersection of AV software, AI models, and hardware systems for vehicle autonomy.
• Run, deploy, and test software on next-generation GM autonomous vehicles.
• Manage and deploy HIL Services as a Platform as a Service (PaaS)
