CARIAD is seeking a Staff Engineer for HIL Design, Hardware Integration & Bring‑Up in Mountain View. You will own bench architecture, harness ownership, and AI‑enabled lab automation, leading cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable validation platforms for automotive hardware.

Requires deep HIL expertise, embedded bring‑up, and strong Python automation skills. Onsite role with lab‑intensive responsibilities and collaboration across suppliers, IT, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in HIL design, integration, or automotive hardware validation.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• Hands-on bring‑up of boards/ECUs, harnessing, test infrastructure, and AI/automation.

Responsibilities

• Own HIL bench architecture, I/O mapping, and reliability criteria for hardware platforms.
• Lead board/ECU/system bring‑up across prototype revisions and fault isolation.
• Develop Python automation for instrument control, data capture, and test execution.
• Drive AI‑enabled lab automation roadmap and evidence packaging.
