Job summary

Fayetteville Public Library is seeking an AV Support Technician to provide professional audiovisual support for events, programs, and rentals. You will set up, operate, and teardown AV equipment, and assist in creating digital content.

You will work with various departments to ensure equipment is prepared, safe, and on schedule, while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming environment for staff and patrons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 12–18 months related experience or equivalent
• Experience with Microsoft and Apple operating systems, Office software, and basic networking concepts
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
• 1–2 years’ experience with AV production or events setup team

Responsibilities

• Setup, test, run, and strike events and AV equipment to ensure smooth operation
• Operate and strike AV gear including soundboard, mics, speakers, cameras, and switcher for live streaming
• Anticipate issues and assist clients during technical problems
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons and internal/external clients
• Respond to AV support tickets and document issues in ticket system
• Install new hardware and software as needed
• Assist in developing original digital content (videos, podcasts)
• Maintain safety and organization, balance multiple tasks with urgency
• Train new staff and orient them to library culture
• Attend weekly department meetings and site visits
• Represent department on committees and handle maintenance tasks
• Follow library policies on sick leave and PTO
• Conduct special projects as assigned
• Perform other related duties
