Job summary

Ann Arbor District Library in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a Production Technician to support technology-intensive live events and create content aligned with the library's strategic goals. You will collaborate with event producers, set up audio/video/lighting systems, record and post-produce content, and maintain production files and equipment on site.

Evenings and weekends are part of the schedule, with a strong emphasis on customer service and professional communication in a busy public setting.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience providing direct customer service
• Familiarity with web-based video conferencing technologies
• Basic understanding of networking and directory structures
• Familiarity with production hardware and software, including live audio mixing and video post-production
• Strong organizational skills and time management
• Excellent communication skills with emphasis on regular email communication

Responsibilities

• Communicates with event and content producers to determine technical needs.
• Sets up and configures audio, video, lighting, staging and seating systems.
• Troubleshoots and monitors presentation and recording equipment.
• Maintains continuity in production processes.
• Accommodates last-minute changes in production needs.
• Records audio and video for live and scripted productions.
• Performs post-production of recorded content.
• Maintains files and digital databases for publications and promotions.
• Works with Production and IT staff to maintain equipment on site.
