Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking a Design Engineer in Houston to transform customer needs into actionable AV system designs and detailed documentation. You will work closely with sales and account managers to understand requirements, identify risks, and communicate complex designs clearly to clients.

The role focuses on creating accurate design packages, including BOMs and scopes of work, and ensuring feasibility for successful project execution through collaboration with vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

• Design and document AV system solutions with accuracy.
• Translate client requirements into actionable AV designs.
• Prepare design packages including BOMs, diagrams, and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with sales and Account Managers during pre-sales design.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Sales Design and Proposal Efforts.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to capture customer requirements.
• Explain design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide labor and material estimates for proposals.
• Develop and maintain design standards for large accounts.
• Produce system documentation and bill of materials.
• Coordinate with contractors during design development.
• Act as design authority during project execution.
