Job summary

Hyphn is seeking an experienced AV/Structured Cabling designer to provide technical design and verification for design-build projects in the San Diego area. You will collaborate with peers, partners, and account executives to craft systems that meet customer requirements while upholding high design quality.

You will verify bid designs, guide drafters, and support operations, sales, and service teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year degree or 5+ years industry experience in AV systems.
• Experience reading complex construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of electrical raceway design and basic electrical theory.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and IT systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and verification of AV and structured cabling systems.
• Collaborate with design peers and account executives to meet customer requirements.
• Verify and engineer awarded bid system designs for accuracy and quality.
• Direct drafting staff to produce shop drawings per standards.
• Support Operations, Sales, and Service departments as needed.
• Create BOMs, quotes, and project docs using internal tools.
