Job summary

NAES Corporation is seeking an Auxiliary Plant Operator at the Castleton Energy Center in Castleton On Hudson, NY. The role focuses on safe operation of plant equipment, monitoring systems, and routine maintenance in a 72 MW combined cycle facility.

You will coordinate with the CRO, perform water chemistry tasks, and support startup/shutdowns, with a rotating 12-hour shift that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering, Process Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Experience in power generation, industrial operations, maintenance, or a similar technical environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with water chemistry, water treatment, chemical handling, or related industrial processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, shutdown, and routine operation of plant systems and equipment per procedures.
• Operate and monitor auxiliary mechanical, electrical, and process systems like air compressors and water treatment.
• Perform equipment rounds, tests, inspections, and basic diagnostics; adjust as needed.
• Coordinate with CRO to operate equipment, place in/out of service, and perform LOTO activities.
• Conduct routine water chemistry testing and support chemical handling and CEMS activities.
• Maintain operating logs and Tag Out documentation; report abnormal conditions and act to protect personnel and plant.
• Support maintenance and outage activities, including work requests and minor electrical/mechanical work.
• Use CMMS to document deficiencies, initiate work requests, and track inventories.
• Participate in NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs.
