Job summary

SanMar in Ashland, VA seeks a Facilities Group Lead for Autostore to support daily warehouse operations and system processes. You will plan and coordinate workflow for your area and ensure safe operation of material handling equipment, AutoStore robots, and grid systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in conveyor maintenance and repairs or similar equipment.
• 5+ years of experience operating powered lift equipment.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of internal operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team by setting a strong example.
• Ability to read, write and identify colors, sizes, labels and SKUs.
• Comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in high-demand, high-volume environment and meet deadlines.
• May be required to complete SanMar's Lift Operator Certification.
• Essential days or overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute a daily preventive maintenance program for all material handling equipment, including AutoStore systems.
• Ensure the efficient operation of AutoStore robots and grid systems.
• Collaborate with material handling vendors for technical support and spare parts procurement.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot to ensure continuous, reliable operation.
• Delegate tasks and ensure that the team is operating efficiently.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and policies.
• Lead safety training initiatives for the maintenance team and enforce a safety culture.
• Maintain a spare parts inventory for quick replacement of critical components.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure parts and materials.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance with focus on material handling.
• Generate reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities for management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
• Implement best practices to optimize AutoStore systems and other equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
