Job summary

Rivian is seeking Vehicle Operators for its Autonomy Systems Validation team to test prototype vehicles, including those with autonomous systems, on public roads and private facilities. You will operate, drive, troubleshoot, and document feedback for engineering teams, while performing safety procedures and coordinating with hardware and software engineers.

The role emphasizes testing in various conditions, 8-hour days, and data collection for analysis, with potential for overtime and shift

Qualifications

• Professional automotive driving or autonomous vehicle testing experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR in last 3 years.
• Ability to operate autonomous vehicles for 6–8 hours/day.
• Proactive, detail-oriented communicator.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate test vehicles, including autonomous systems, in testing conditions up to 8 hours/day.
• Perform vehicle prep work and diagnostics for autonomous testing scenarios.
• Conduct tests and provide detailed feedback on performance, safety, and issues.
• Complete post-drive reports and online tickets; escalate to engineers as needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues; assist engineers in debugging.
• Perform and verify OTA software updates for vehicle systems.
• Collect and share data from vehicle and logging systems for engineering analysis.
