Job summary

Torc Robotics in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking an Autonomy Technician to support integration and maintenance of our self-driving software on test vehicles. You will work with engineers, technicians, and field staff to diagnose problems, review logs, and ensure vehicles are operable and safe for software integration testing.

Ideal candidates have hands-on automotive service experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a disciplined approach to safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive or heavy machinery service and repair, including complex electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle problems using shop, automotive, and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency with a computer for communications and data collection and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of OSHA and shop safety practices.
• Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced team.
• Demonstrates high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication to report data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers, technicians, and field personnel on tests or R&D projects.
• Review logs and manuals to analyze, diagnose and repair parts and issues.
• Inspect component installations, maintenance, repairs and replacements.
• Provide time and parts estimates while ensuring vehicle safety and readiness.
• Maintain Torc’s test vehicles and maximize availability for software integration testing.
• Coordinate sensor replacement, repairs, and RMA processes.
• Assist with vehicle readiness, fueling, and software updates before tests.
• Deploy software updates prior to test execution and support system integration testing.
