Job summary

Torc is seeking an Autonomy Technician to support the integration and maintenance of our self-driving software with test vehicles. You will review logs, inspect installations, and assist engineers in diagnosing complex issues to ensure readiness for testing.

The role requires experience with automotive service, strong troubleshooting, and adherence to safety practices. You will collaborate across teams to maintain vehicle readiness and support software integration efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive or heavy machinery service and repair, including complex electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle or machinery problems using general shop, automotive, and diagnostic tools.
• Efficient use of a computer to create and respond to communications, record observations, and assist with data collection or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for compliance including OSHA and shop safety practices.
• Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to work in a cooperative, rapidly changing team setting with aggressive goals and timelines.
• Demonstrates technical aptitude and consistent high-quality workmanship, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and field personnel on tests or R&D projects.
• Review logs and maintenance histories to analyze, diagnose and repair parts and problems.
• Inspect component installations, maintenance, repairs and replacements.
• Provide time and parts estimates, ensuring vehicle safety and operability.
• Maintain Torc’s test vehicles and maximize availability for software testing.
• Support system integration testing as a Test Conductor.
