Job summary

Searchability Aerospace & Defense is seeking a robotic software engineer to design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems for unmanned aircraft. You will work across the full software lifecycle—C++ development, hardware integration, embedded Linux deployment, testing, flight-testing, troubleshooting and customer demos.

Qualifications

• Experience with robotic or autonomous systems.
• Experience integrating software with physical hardware.
• Experience with Pixhawk, ArduPilot, or PX4.
• Experience developing within embedded Linux environments.
• Experience using Docker.
• Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, or Ethernet.
• Familiarity with real-time or edge computing systems.
• Experience with SIL or HIL testing.
• Experience using Git or GitLab.
• BS or MS in robotics, computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Willingness to travel 10-20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate modular autonomy capabilities across defense applications.
• Deploy software onto embedded Linux systems and UAV platforms.
• Interface autonomy software with autopilots, datalinks, sensors, GPS, INS.
• Integrate autonomy software onto OEM platforms with third-party UAVs.
• Develop C++ software, integrate sensors, collect data, troubleshoot issues.
• Support flight testing across Group 1–5 UAVs and demonstrations.
• Implement service-oriented architectures and inter-process messaging.
• Collaborate with customers and operational experts during integration.
