Job summary

The Toro Company is seeking a Robotics Engineer to own autonomous features and subsystems, including localization, planning, and control. You will verify, validate, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Perception, Embedded, and Safety teams for reliable field performance.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering/robotics/CS, with a master’s preferred, plus 2–12+ years in robotics roles. Hybrid work and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Robotics Engineer II–V: 2–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SLAM, LiDAR, and vision technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance major autonomy features and robotic subsystems, including localization, planning, and control pipelines.
• Develop and optimize SLAM solutions using 2D/3D data, LiDAR, and vision technologies, including loop closure and map optimization.
• Design robust multisensor fusion systems using EKF, UKF, and factor graphs.
• Develop advanced planning and control capabilities, including MPC, LQR, trajectory tracking, and model identification.
• Plan and execute experiments and verification activities, establishing KPIs for accuracy, latency, reliability, and real-time performance.
• Mentor Level I/II engineers and collaborate with Perception, Embedded, and Safety teams.
