Shield AI, a defense-tech company, seeks a Software Engineer II for the HMS Factory Team to build automated testing, log analysis, and scenario-generation tools for the Hivemind Platform. You will work with experienced software, autonomy, and systems engineers to evaluate AI Pilot behaviors through repeatable simulation testing and data-driven performance analysis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical discipline.
• Foundational Python development experience from coursework, internships, or work.
• Familiarity with Python scripting, data processing and libraries like NumPy, Pandas, matplotlib.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and shell scripting.
• Understanding of Git-based version control, code review, automated testing, and debugging.
• Experience with structured data formats and APIs (JSON, YAML, CSV).
• Exposure to automated testing, CI/CD, simulation environments or robotics tooling.
• Basic container concepts with Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and maintain Python scripts and libraries to analyze simulation data and calculate metrics.
• Support analysis tools processing simulation outputs, telemetry, rosbags, and test artifacts.
• Help build automated test workflows and wrappers around internal test-orchestration tools.
• Assist with developing test adapters, configuration files, and automation utilities in Python and C++ when needed.
• Contribute to scenario-generation tools for varied simulation conditions.
• Write domain-randomization scripts varying environmental and sensor parameters.
• Investigate test failures by reviewing logs, telemetry, and test results.
• Maintain reusable test templates and standardized reporting outputs.
