Shield AI is seeking a System Test Engineer II to support integration, verification, and validation of Hivemind Mission Autonomy across unmanned aircraft systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, document, and improve system-level test activities in lab, simulation, and flight-test environments.

This hands-on role targets early-career engineers interested in autonomy, robotics, and software-hardware integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational experience with engineering test, integration, or verification.
• Familiarity with systems engineering concepts: requirements, verification, validation.
• Interest in autonomous systems, unmanned aircraft, flight-test operations.
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows, command-line tools, networking, and Python/Bash/C++.
• Ability to work methodically, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with logs and telemetry.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated reliability and teamwork.
• Ability to travel periodically for integration and customer activities.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning and execution for integration onto unmanned platforms and configurations.
• Assist with defining test objectives, expected behavior, acceptance criteria, and verification methods.
• Develop and maintain system-level test procedures, cases, checklists, and configurations.
• Support setup and troubleshooting of SIL, HIL, simulation, and lab/test environments.
• Assist with installation and verification of test hardware, software, networks, and sensors.
• Collect and organize test data, telemetry, logs, and configuration information.
