Job summary

AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, delivering safety-critical software and hardware for autonomous systems used by airlines and ground handlers worldwide.

The Senior Safety Engineer will perform hazard analyses, derive safety requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated and verifiable across aero-robotic platforms. This role emphasizes FMEDA, PMHF, and ISO 26262-5 mastery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, aerospace, or industrial safety.
  • 5+ years in hardware safety engineering, EE reliability, or failure rate modeling.
  • Experience with autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics.
  • Ability to work under mentorship in a fast-paced agile team.
  • B.S. or M.S. in CS, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • Proficiency with FAT/EIL/diagnostic and safety analysis methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative hardware safety analyses (FMEDA, diagnostic coverage, PMHF).
  • Calculate hardware failure rates using standard methodologies (SN 29500, IEC 61709, MIL-HDBK-217).
  • Evaluate drive-by-wire compute hardware, sensor suites, actuators, and power systems for faults.
  • Derive Hardware Safety Requirements for redundant architectures and fail-operational nodes.
