Job summary

Heaviside Industries in Los Angeles designs autonomous precision munitions. We are seeking a robotics software engineer to develop embedded software in C++ and Python, and to build applications using ROS and PX4.

You will integrate sensors and hardware, and advance control and navigation for autonomous systems. You will work across Linux environments, contribute to design discussions, and help deploy features from concept to field trials.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ and Python development.
• Hands-on ROS and PX4 experience, ROS 2 preferred.
• Experience with Linux-based software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics and embedded software using C++ and Python.
• Build and integrate applications using ROS and PX4.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and interfaces.
• Develop control, navigation, autonomy capabilities.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
• Test and validate via simulation, bench tests, field trials.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Document technical work.
• Collaborate to take features from concept to deployment.
