Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is actively hiring for an engineering specialist to advance autonomous and operator-assisted driving systems. You will design, implement, and test algorithms, then integrate solutions into our software stack and hardware platform.
You will work with a team of researchers and engineers to push the boundaries of mobile robotics, autonomy, and safety in off-road environments, aligning with Caterpillar’s goals and customer needs.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of mobile robotics for autonomy or operator assist systems.
- Experience with computer vision, ML, DL techniques and sensors (lidar, radar, cameras).
- Design, write, test and review autonomy software.
- Experience with ROS or AIS, OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch.
Responsibilities
- Solve challenging problems for mobile off-road machines.
- Design and develop software and algorithms to meet customer needs.
- Document architecture, software design, verification plans, test cases, procedures.
- Collaborate with teams to collect and analyze data on robotic platforms.
