Job summary

Nodi is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own the robotics and autonomy layer of the self-driving lab: the Workcells, instruments, control software, sim environment, and perception workflows that turn AI decisions into experiments and trustworthy results.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in product management or cross-functional engineering roles.
• 2+ years in robotics, automation, or integrated hardware/software products.
• Technical credibility across robotics, controls, mechatronics, and mechanical engineering.
• Experience with production readiness and reliability testing.
• Hardware delivery from prototype to production with cost/schedule tradeoffs.
• Technical discovery with customers or stakeholders.
• Ability to influence without authority and prioritize across teams.
• First principles thinking and structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Define Workcell roadmap and determine buy vs build of instruments.
• Set requirements for new Workcells from problem to handoff.
• Make hardware lifecycle decisions with exit criteria.
• Own software for scheduling, orchestration, control, and data quality.
• Define autonomy thresholds and when systems act without human input.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and maintainability with engineers and operators.
• Track lab performance metrics like throughput and time to result.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and science teams to align roadmaps.
