Job summary

Radical AI is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own the robotics and autonomy layer of our self-driving lab. You will spend real time on the lab floor, work directly with robotics, hardware, software engineers, and scientists, and defend product positions with judgment rather than authority.

You will define what the lab must be able to do, balancing throughput, reliability, flexibility, and cost, and manage from requirements through design, build, and deployment.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in product management or a highly cross-functional engineering role, including at least 2 years on robotics, automation, or integrated hardware and software products.
• Technical credibility across automation disciplines and sensors/actuators.
• Experience maturing automated or semi-automated processes in production.
• Hardware delivery from prototype through production with cost, schedule, and reliability trade-offs.
• Led discovery with customers or internal stakeholders and surfaced operational constraints.
• Ability to align priorities across hardware, software, and science teams without formal authority.
• Defining requirements and tradeoffs to enable lab throughput and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own the Workcells and hardware roadmap from problem to handoff to operations.
• Define requirements for new Workcells and instrument integrations, from problem to design review.
• Manage hardware lifecycle decisions across prototype, pilot, and production readiness.
• Own autonomy and control: establish when the system can act without human input.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, science, and ML teams to keep the roadmap grounded in technical reality and user need.
