Job summary

DoorDash Labs is hiring a Firmware Validation & Integration Engineer for our autonomy software team. You will design and build Hardware-in-the-Loop environments and automated test suites to validate firmware and system integration across embedded platforms.

The role reports to the Autonomy Platform Lead and is hybrid with in-office and remote work. We seek 5+ years in validation/HIL for robotics or mechatronics, plus strong Python/C++ skills and hands-on experience with Speedgoat, dSPACE, or NI

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in validation, integration, or HIL development for robotics or mechatronics.
• Experience designing and building HIL environments with hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Experience with embedded source code for troubleshooting and validation of peripherals.
• Proficient in Python and C++ for test automation and simulators.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Hardware-in-the-Loop systems to simulate vehicle dynamics and sensor data for validation.
• Develop automated test infrastructure to exercise embedded platforms across the robot system.
• Interface control system layers to ensure seamless hardware–software integration.
• Implement low-level validation sequences for batteries, drive-train, and thermal management components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify edge cases affecting safety and performance.
