Job summary

HireArt is helping our client in Ann Arbor, MI hire Autonomous Vehicle Operators for testing and development of autonomous vehicle technology. You will safely operate test vehicles in manual and autonomous modes on public roads and closed courses, supporting data collection and daily testing activities.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused with strong driving skills, comfortable working with development vehicles, and able to follow procedures and document testing activities.

Qualifications

• Valid driving experience and a clean driving record.
• Basic vehicle inspections, operations and safety procedures.
• Strong navigation, route execution and time management.
• Typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
• Ability to use email and basic office tools (Google Sheets, Word, Excel).
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare development vehicles for testing, including setup, inspections and shutdowns.
• Safely operate vehicles in manual and autonomous modes on public roads and closed courses.
• Address vehicle or operational issues with basic troubleshooting.
• Support testing at closed-course test tracks.
• Submit debrief reports and track daily productivity.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Expected compensation: 23.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping our client find Autonomous Vehicle Operators to support the testing and development of autonomous vehicle technology.

In this role, you'll safely operate company test vehicles in both manual and autonomous driving modes on public roads and closed courses. You'll work closely with the Vehicle Operations team to support data collection, vehicle readiness, and daily testing activities.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, has strong driving skills, and is comfortable operating development vehicles while following established procedures and documenting testing activities.

Potential travel to Palo Alto, CA, may be required for training purposes.

As An Autonomous Vehicle Operator, You Will

• Prepare development vehicles for testing, including proper setup, inspections, and shutdown procedures.
• Safely operate development vehicles in manual and autonomous driving modes on public roads and closed courses.
• Perform basic troubleshooting to address vehicle or operational issues as needed.
• Support occasional testing activities at closed-course test tracks.
• Complete administrative tasks, including submitting debrief reports and tracking daily productivity.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Demonstrated safe driving practices and proven driving experience
• Basic knowledge of vehicle inspections, operations, and safety procedures
• Strong navigation, route execution, and time management skills
• Typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute (WPM)
• Familiarity with email, basic office applications, and productivity tools, including Google Sheets, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Moderate knowledge of computer hardware and basic troubleshooting

Commitment

This is a full-time, 6-month contract position (with the possibility of extension) staffed via HireArt. This position is onsite and available to candidates local to the Ann Arbor, MI area.
