Pave Talent is hiring Vehicle Operators for a full-time, ongoing W-2 assignment on an autonomous vehicle program. You operate test vehicles, use the testing software and report what you observe so the team can improve how the vehicles perform. No autonomous vehicle experience needed; careful driving, attention to detail and clear reporting are what matter.
- $29 per hour, paid weekly for approved hours
- An assigned shift and recurring workdays you can plan around
- Full-time and ongoing, not a short project
- Employee benefits, including healthcare, paid sick leave and paid holidays
- Hands-on experience with vehicle testing, software tools and reporting
- You drive carefully, stay alert and follow safety procedures even once the work feels familiar
- You notice details and would rather report an issue than overlook it
- You are comfortable on a computer and can write an accurate account of what happened
- You show up reliably, work well with teammates and take feedback
- You can stay focused through repetitive testing and want to learn new tools
- Delivery, courier, rideshare, fleet and other professional driving backgrounds translate well, and so does security, dispatch or logistics work paired with solid driving and computer skills. If you need a weekday-only schedule, this is not your role: every workweek includes Saturday and Sunday.
- Employer-supported medical coverage, plus dental and vision options
- Life and disability insurance
- Paid sick leave and 11 paid holidays under the employer's policies
- Health navigation and illness and injury support, including access to registered nurses
- Day shifts start between 5:45 AM and 7:45 AM PT; evening shifts start between 1:45 PM and 5:45 PM PT
- Five shifts a week, each about 8.5 hours
- Workweeks run Wednesday to Sunday, Thursday to Monday, Friday to Tuesday or Saturday to Wednesday
- Onsite in San Francisco; you need a reliable way to reach the worksite for every shift
- Operate test vehicles, with each shift combining time behind the wheel, vehicle checks and written reports
- Complete vehicle and software checks and help keep vehicles ready for testing
- Monitor the testing systems and document vehicle behavior, observations and issues
- Follow instructions and share clear feedback with the operations and technical teams
- A current, valid California driver's license held for at least three consecutive years with no gaps
- A strong driving record that meets the program's screening requirements
- Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute, plus comfort with computers, accurate data entry and new software
- Clear communication, dependable attendance and availability for one of the listed schedules
Candidates selected for an initial conversation have a 15-minute phone screen with our recruiting team; the hiring process includes license-history and typing verification, a client interview with a drive test, and the required driving-record, background and drug screening.
