Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Team Lead for Vehicle Operations in Phoenix, guiding a team of Vehicle Operators to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency. You will work hands-on with your team and coordinate with program management, strategy, vehicle engineering, and go-to-market teams to align on goals.

This role requires on-site work for all scheduled shifts (Thu-Mon, 3:45pm–12:15am), supervising timesheets, expenses, and performance feedback, and mentoring contingent staff to Zoox’s high standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional work experience in a cross-functional and product-based environment.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and improve operational efficiency with a proactive mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management.

Responsibilities

• Support vehicle operators in day-to-day operations, upholding a safety-centric culture.
• Complete administrative tasks including timesheet approval, expense reports, and schedule validation; conduct performance feedback.
• Work closely with other Team Leads and Program/Project Managers to align teams with Zoox's goals.
• Become a knowledge expert on Zoox’s proprietary software related to Vehicle Operations and mentor staff.
• Interact with contingent workforce personnel and management to ensure understanding of assignments.
• Conduct recurring testing to stay current with Vehicle Operations.
• Drive process and product improvements in collaboration with product and program teams.
