Job summary

Uber is building AV Labs in Sunnyvale to accelerate autonomous vehicle data and systems. As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, prototype, and validate electrical hardware for the vehicle fleet, collaborating across teams to ensure reliable circuits, PCBs, power distribution, and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical hardware design.
• Experience in DC/DC converters, power distribution, protection circuits, and interfaces.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design circuits and PCB assemblies for autonomous vehicle hardware, including power distribution, compute, storage, sensor interfaces, and vehicle interface electronics.
• Bring up, characterization, and debugging of prototype hardware; perform root‑cause analysis and drive design improvements.
• Develop and execute Design Validation Plans (DVP) to verify electrical performance, power integrity, thermal performance, and communication interfaces.
• Support electrical hardware integration into autonomous vehicle platforms; collaborate to resolve vehicle‑level electrical issues.
• Maintain schematics, BOMs, and validation documentation; support design reviews and component qualification.
