Job summary

Aurora, based in Midland, TX, is hiring a Class A Driver for a 6-month assignment with potential to extend. You will operate autonomous semi trucks on road and test tracks, supporting development and pilot operations.

The role requires strong safety focus, adaptability to rotating day and night shifts, and willingness to travel up to 50%. You will work closely with engineers and cross‑functional teams, log feedback, maintain DOT compliance, and uphold all certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and Interstate Class-A CDL.
• Driving record must pass MVR guidelines.
• Able to travel up to 50%.
• Available to work night shifts and rotating shifts.
• Must pass DOT physical and FMCSA drug testing.
• At least 21 years old.
• Meet all DOT qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Pilot autonomous semi trucks on road and closed course testing.
• Monitor the Aurora Driver during autonomy periods.
• Log real-time feedback for engineers on performance.
• Escalate blockers with proposed solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to advance Aurora’s mission.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology.
• Ensure required partner applications and access are current.
• Meet mandatory certifications and accreditations.
