Motional in the United States seeks a Feature Engineer to join the Systems Readiness and Performance team for autonomous vehicles. You will design and improve AV features, validate the autonomy stack, and establish performance targets that align with a rigorous safety case.

Collaborating with product, autonomy, operations, and safety teams, you will define target behaviours and validation suites across software integration, HIL, SIL, and real-world tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least one year of experience.
• Strong technical writing to communicate root cause analysis, design goals, and verification objectives.
• Experience in systems engineering and safety analysis processes.

Responsibilities

• Design new autonomous vehicle features and continuously improve existing features for performance and safety.
• Collaborate with product, autonomy, operations, and safety teams to define desired vehicle behaviours and design targets.
• Establish validation and verification suites across software integration, HIL/SIL, and test tracks.
• Build rigorous performance measures and automated checks for testing and in-service data monitoring.
• Conduct thorough safety analysis on feature designs to ensure safe, reliable operations.
• Investigate root causes of issues observed during testing or on-road and recommend corrective actions.
