Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to independently manage diverse solar construction projects from pre-construction to closeout. You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, BIM, and contracts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the Midwest.

The role requires strong client and subcontractor communication, financial oversight, and the ability to travel 3–4 days per week. A Engineering/Construction Management degree and PV/DC systems knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent training/experience.
• Robust knowledge of installation of PV/DC electrical systems.
• Estimating takeoff capabilities not required but a plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage solar construction projects from pre-construction to closeout.
• Understand project management tools: scheduling, budgeting, communications, contracts, BIM.
• Manage all financial aspects of projects and track budget vs. actuals.
• Lead client and subcontractor communications and resolve issues.
• Prepare project baseline schedules and updates; analyze delays with baseline.
• Oversee safety ownership with weekly audits and incident reporting.
• Travel 3-4 days per week across the Midwest.
