Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a hands-on Member of Technical Staff specializing in simulation and robot learning. You will build high-fidelity simulation environments, train policies, and bridge sim-to-real gaps on real factory robotics platforms.

You will work across reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and diffusion-based approaches, collaborating with controls, perception, and software teams to deliver reliable robotic behaviors on physical hardware.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
• 4+ years building simulation environments and deploying robot-learning policies.
• Deep experience with major robotics simulators (Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Drake, Gazebo, SAPIEN, Genesis)
• Experience building and tuning simulation environments, not just using pre-built ones.
• Demonstrated sim-to-real transfer experience (domain randomization, calibration, etc.)
• Strong Python skills; comfortable with C++ when needed.
• Proficiency with PyTorch, JAX, or similar ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity simulation environments using Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Drake, Gazebo, SAPIEN, Genesis, or similar tools.
• Author scenes, assets, physics configurations, contact models, and task definitions for robotic manipulation.
• Train deployable robot policies using reinforcement learning, imitation learning, diffusion policies, VLAs, or world models.
• Drive policies from simulation to real robots and improve real-world robustness.
• Close the sim-to-real gap via domain randomization and system identification.
• Build scalable pipelines for synthetic data generation, teleoperation, and demos.
• Use agentic AI/LLM tools to automate simulation and data workflows.
