Job summary

Solidus Resources, LLC is seeking a Pit Technician for the Spring Valley operation in Lovelock, NV. Reporting to the Control Room Supervisor, you will advise on changes to optimize autonomous trucks and execute manual interventions in the field to keep the AOZ aligned with the digital mine model.

You will perform surveys, validate AOZ, monitor floor condition and access control, and provide real-time feedback to Builders and Controllers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in mine engineering, robotics or autonomous systems is an asset.
• 2+ years in an open-pit mining or autonomous operations environment.
• Knowledge of autonomous truck behavior in the field.
• Experience with fleet-management systems such as CAT MineStar, Modular or similar.
• Strong organizational and priority-setting skills; able to make complex decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Command Controller and Command Builder on changes to optimize autonomous operation and truck performance.
• Ensure AOZ conditions match the digital mine model.
• Perform surveys and validation of the AOZ, including LiDAR and surface validation surveys.
• Verify floor condition, zone geometry and access control; conduct pit inspections and area surveys.
• Identify hazards and mark infrastructure (cables, lighting, bunds).
• Maintain signage, barriers and exclusion indicators; create safe zones during field work and investigations.
• Execute manual interventions on autonomous trucks, including troubleshooting and recovery scripts.
• Carry out truck recovery and ensure vehicles are in the correct mode as required.
• Investigate events causing autonomous trucks to stop; identify maintenance needs.
• Optimize system configuration for autonomous mine truck performance; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide real-time field feedback to Builders and Controllers.
