Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Bagdad, Arizona seeks an Autonomous Mining Pit Technician II to support operations, run validations, and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams. The role emphasizes safety, communication and timely intervention for autonomous systems.

You will perform regular pit inspections, document data, and ensure truck availability while promoting safe, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and shift teams in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of related operational experience in a mining environment.
• Ability to pass written assessments based on skills, knowledge and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the Autonomous Mining Controls Specialist and System Coordinator with operational changes and manual interventions.
• Assist with regular surveys and validations of the Autonomous Operation Zone per safety guidelines.
• Identify truck behaviors requiring maintenance or optimization and communicate findings to personnel.
• Support shift reports, handovers and document follow-up issues.
• Assist daily pit inspections, validate mine model changes and optimize system configuration for Autonomous Mining Truck performance.
