Job summary

MedStar Health in Washington, DC is seeking a professional registered nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge. You will collaborate with patients and families and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to deliver theory-based, patient-centered services. Minimum ADN required with RN license; BSN preferred.

If ADN, enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within four years. 1–2 years RN experience required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• BSN from an accredited program preferred.
• If ADN, enroll in BSN within 12 months of hire and complete within four years.
• 1-2 years RN experience required.
• RN licensure in state or compact state required.
• CPR certification for healthcare providers within 90 days.
• C-EFM certification required within 12 months for Perinatal nurses.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care from admission through discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care delivery.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in care delivery.
• Advocate for patients and communicate clinical concerns timely.
• Provide leadership and delegate tasks as appropriate to the scope of practice.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Engage in lifelong learning and quality improvement initiatives.
