Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC seeks a professional care provider to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care from admission to discharge. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver theory-based, patient-centered care within safety and quality standards.

Qualified candidates have an ADN with 1-2 years of RN experience and hold RN licensure in the appropriate state.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program preferred.
• If hired with an ADN, must enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within 4 years.
• 1-2 years RN experience required.
• RN licensure in/state or compact state required.
• CPR for healthcare providers required within 90 days.
• EFM certification required within 12-15 months depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess plans, implement and evaluate nursing care from admission through discharge.
• Collaborate with patient and family to coordinate interprofessional care.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to quality standards and hospital values.
• Communicate clearly in verbal and written formats.
• Lead and delegate tasks appropriate to scope of practice.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Plan discharge and coordinate with the care team.
