Job summary

Walmart in Sedalia, MO is seeking an Associate Optometrist to deliver evidence-based vision care as a clinical partner to the Vision Center Manager. The vision center leverages state-of-the-art tools to provide high-quality patient care and education within a fast-paced retail setting.

You will use digital phoropters and EMR, coordinate referrals to ophthalmologists, and educate patients and team members on eye health while maintaining compliant, compassionate service for the community we serve.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry program.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
• PGY-1 in area of emphasis preferred (e.g., family practice, pediatric or ocular disease).

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based vision care and prescribe medications when appropriate, per state guidelines.
• Educate patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, and safety factors.
• Consult with ophthalmologists and other professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
• Document patient history, examinations, and treatment plans in a timely manner.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure regulatory compliance within vision center operations.
