Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Bagdad, AZ seeks an Autonomous Technology Support Technician II to install, maintain and troubleshoot onboard IT hardware for fleet management, safety and operations. You will mentor peers, configure wireless networks and contribute to network project design in a mining environment.

The role requires 4+ years in computer/electronic systems troubleshooting or 6+ years with a certification, weekend/shift work, and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair plus one technical certification relevant to the role
• OR six (6) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
• Customer service orientation and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain onboard IT hardware for fleet management, safety and operational systems
• Troubleshoot to minimize downtime and support wireless networking and data communications
• Mentor peers and contribute to network project design and implementation
• Work with low voltage onboard devices and mobile infrastructure systems
