Job summary

HealthDrive is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to manage medical needs of skilled nursing residents in sub-acute and long-term care units. You will diagnose, treat and promote health, collaborating with the medical staff and acting as the primary contact for emergencies and routine visits.

The role includes a 3-week paid training with a mentor APRN, and benefits like health coverage, 401k, and malpractice insurance. Training aims to empower independent patient care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program
• State professional Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certification required for APRN practice
• DEA/Controlled Substance license
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and with on-site staff
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Proficiency in email, internet and healthcare software

Responsibilities

• Provide primary and preventative care for residents in an assigned facility
• Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
• Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
• Prescribe medications
• Maintain accurate records and schedules
• Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
• Oversee patients’ overall health
