Job summary

ASARCO in the United States is seeking a hands‑on MineStar Builder to implement and maintain the mine model for hauling. You will support mine controllers and pit technicians, ensuring the model stays current with mining operations and plans.

The role requires 3+ years in open pit or autonomous environments, strong communication, and the ability to influence others while working under pressure. Shift-based operations are expected on site in Arizona.

Qualifications

• College diploma or degree in mine engineering, robotics, or autonomous systems is an asset.
• 3+ years in open pit mining or autonomous operations.
• Ability to influence others and work through others.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Experience with fleet management systems such as MineStar or Modular.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the autonomous fleet effectively and efficiently.
• Keep the mine model up to date and expand to new areas.
• Maximize equipment productivity per the 24-hour plan.
• Maintain mine model integrity with road networks.
• Provide high-level system performance reviews.
• QA of material file import/export.
• Investigate causes of cycle issues.
• Maintain onboard files and support system troubleshooting.
• Enforce EH&S program per company policy.
