Job summary

truckingpeople is seeking a Mission Control Specialist to oversee autonomous vehicle operations from our command center. You will monitor fleet performance, analyze service operations at both macro and vehicle levels, and optimize safety and efficiency during events like civic gatherings or emergencies.

You’ll coordinate real-time dispatch, manage restrictions and routes, and collaborate with software, hardware, and field teams to keep markets running smoothly and riders satisfied.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication under pressure.
• Strong computer literacy navigating multi-screen software environments.
• Previous supervisory/dispatch or command center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support live commercial service operations from the command center, ensuring high fleet uptime, safety, and rider satisfaction.
• Complete daily pre-mission startup checklists to verify that all operational teams, systems, and assets are fully ready for service.
• Serve as the first line of defense for basic vehicle troubleshooting, creating and escalating service disruption events using internal ticketing systems.
• Dispatch Fleet Response ground crews whenever a vehicle requires physical recovery or on-site support, coordinating closely across teams for status updates.
• Manage market settings in real time, including establishing restricted geographic zones, setting hours of operation, and routing around temporary hazards (e.g., civic events, sigalerts, or emergency scenes).
• Collaborate cross-functionally across software, hardware, and field operations to keep your market’s local ecosystem operating smoothly.
• Assist with operational documentation, post-event reporting, and workflow refinement to continuously elevate safety and performance standards.
