Dobbs Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Variable Operations Director to lead the variable operations across multiple dealership locations in Asheville. The role demands a proven GSM/GM background, strong CSI results, and a proactive, deal-creating mindset to drive engagement and revenue.

You will recruit and coach a high-energy team, manage showroom, internet, and finance operations, and partner with third-party vendors to optimize ROI.

• 3+ years of GSM/GM experience.
• Proven CSI performance.

Responsibilities

• Select, train, coach, and retain talent across the variable operations team.
• Act as deal creator by leading daily sales activities and driving performance.
• Motivate the sales team to increase market share, turn rate, units, and profits with high CS&E.
• Engage with 3rd party vendors and digital platforms to maximize spend/ROI.
• Interpret analytics to optimize spend on every platform.
• Set vision and goals for sales, finance, and recon to hit targets.
• Train and motivate the team to achieve performance and best practices.
• Drive the business through day-to-day involvement in operations.
• Negotiate finance options with Sales Associates and explain pricing to customers.
• Lead the Used Vehicle Department including inventory, merchandising, pricing, and reconditioning.
• Manage showroom, e-commerce, and phone traffic channels.
• Assist in controlling expenses for new and used vehicle departments.
• Analyze business to identify shortfalls and develop improvement plans.
