Job summary

Hilbish Ford is seeking an experienced Used Car Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair pre-owned vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and road-ready.

You should have strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities, adapt to a wide range of makes and models, and perform quality repairs in a timely, safety-conscious manner. Our shop emphasizes thorough inspections, documentation, and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred.
• Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Flexibility to handle a variety of vehicle models.
• Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior technicians.
• Adherence to safety regulations and guidelines.
• Must pass pre-employment background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to assess overall condition
• Identify and document any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engine, transmission, brakes, and other vehicle systems
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
• Perform quality control checks to ensure that repairs meet or exceed industry standards
• Other duties assigned
